FAQ
Our accessories shop has descaling tablets, brewer cleaning tablets, and water filters – everything you need to keep your TK-01 in tip top shape!
Nope! Please only clean any parts of your TK-01 by hand, including but not limited to the milk carafe, drip tray, waste bin, and more. The high temperatures of a dishwasher can warp or otherwise ruin these parts.
Your TK-01 will prompt you to descale roughly every 2-3 months, depending on usage. Be sure to adjust the hardness setting in the menu to account for your water hardness, as this will determine how often to descale your TK-01.
Your TK-01 will prompt you to run a brewer cleaning cycle roughly every 2-3 months, depending on usage.
For typical use, we recommend replacing the water filter every three months. You may want to consider replacing the filter more frequently if you live in an area with particularly hard water. For TK-01s being used in commercial or retail environments, please reach out to our Customer Experience team for a customized recommendation. You can purchase additional water filters here.
Regular maintenance is important for keeping your machine's milk system running smoothly. We have a guide for daily tips as well as more thorough cleaning here.
In addition to the brewer cleaning cycle, we recommend removing and rinsing the brew unit once a week to keep the right side of your machine clean. We have instructions on cleaning the brew unit here.
Assuming you're using dry (non-oily) beans, the grinder should not need cleaning. If you've been using oily beans and need to clean the oils, we recommend immediately switching to dry, light to medium roast beans. These will gradually soak up any residual oil from the previous beans.
Please note that your machine's grinder is not removable, nor should you try to access it yourself by disassembling any parts of the hopper or grinder guards. For additional recommendations, please contact our Customer Experience team.
When the drip tray is filled with water or coffee grounds, empty it into the sink. The drip tray can be cleaned by hand with lukewarm water and soap. Please do not put the drip tray in the dishwasher.
We recommend setting your TK-01 into standby mode at least once a day. Powering your machine down and back up allows it to go through a rinse cycle, which will help keep the internal tubing clean. The back power switch need not be used unless you'll be away from your TK-01 for an extended period of time.
Yes! We recommend that, even when using filtered water, you continue using the water filter that came with your TK-01. Please reach out to our Customer Experience team for advice on setting your water hardness setting when using filtered or softened water.
