Hardware/Firmware Engineer (IoT)

SUMMARY

Terra Kaffe is seeking a Hardware/Firmware Engineer (IoT) to join our team. The ideal candidate has experience working in the IoT space; developing, leading, and innovating on complex connected hardware products. This individual thrives in a fast paced environment, enjoys wearing many hats, and is eager to build cool stuff.

This is a full time position with remote optionality and will report to the CTO.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop localized IoT device hardware/firmware
• Collaborate with engineering team to iterate on existing firmware for HMI and Control Board PCBA’s
• Prototype concepts for future product portfolio
• Come to the table with creative, innovative solutions to problems and plans to Think Big!
• Assist CTO and CEO with special projects as needed

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering or 4+ years experience working with low level hardware circuitry, assembly, and programming
• Advanced knowledge of C, C++ and machine assembly languages
• Experience with PCB, PCBA, MCU, SDRAM, Flash types (NOR/NAND) their assembly, and programming
• Experience with the fundamentals of IoT connectivity protocols and security through various 3rd party systems (Azure, AWS, GCP, etc)
• Experience with HMI design and implementation through technology such as TouchGFX
  Excellent written and verbal communication skills (being able to explain technology concepts to a bunch of luddites is key)
• Strong organizational skills
• Preference will be given to candidates with additional experience in electrical engineering.
