Smarter alerts, faster brews
Starting Monday, July 28, we’re rolling out TK-02 firmware v34.1 nationwide. This update is all about giving you a smoother, smarter, and just plain better coffee experience. As a reminder, firmware updates can take up to two weeks to reach your machine. There’s no need to update the app as these are machine-only updates.
Improved Low Bean alert
We’ve all had that moment: you hit brew, only to realize the hopper is nearly empty. Firmware v34.1 lets you customize your low beans alert so it works on your terms.
You can now customize the low beans alert by telling your machine two things:
- How many shots you want left before the alert triggers
- How full your hopper is right now
Here’s how to set it up:

On your machine, go to: Menu → Settings → Advanced Settings → Low Beans Detection Beta v2 and turn the feature ON.

Set your preferred trigger level – this is the number of remaining shots at which you'd like to receive the low beans alert.

Tap Set Current Bean Level and choose the option that best matches how full your hopper currently is.
How it works once enabled:
- Anytime you remove and replace the hopper (for example, when you refill beans), the machine will automatically show the Set Bean Level screen.
- You can update the level to match how full the hopper is.
- Tap Set Bean Level to save your selection. If you tap Cancel, the level will remain unchanged.
This update helps ensure your low beans alert is accurate and tailored to your preferences.
Faster brewing from screensaver
Because there’s nothing worse than watching your machine slowly wake up while you’re half-awake yourself. We reworked the heating cycle so your TK-02 is ready to brew faster when it wakes from screensaver. Fewer seconds waiting, more seconds sipping.
What this means for you:
- When your machine comes out of screensaver, espresso and drip coffee drinks will start brewing faster than before.
- You’ll notice a shorter “Hang Tight” screen when making any drink that doesn’t use milk.
Smarter screens, longer life
We’ve updated the TK-02 screensaver to better support long-term screen health. This small tweak makes a big difference behind the scenes, helping extend the life of your display so it stays crisp and clear for the long haul.
