Earlier this summer we paid a visit to our friend Toya Horiuchi— a talented painter, graphic designer, and screen printer living in East Williamsburg, Brooklyn. He brought along his trusty Shiba Inu, Kojiro, as we headed to his studio in Bushwick. We talked over coffee about his upbringing, process, and routine. Using his culinary background and graphic design prowess to his advantage, Toya creates compositions on canvas that stem from his personal interests and experience in New York.
